Friday, July 19 

  • Crestwood will host a movie in the park at Spellman Park, 1 Detjen Drive, at 7:30 p.m. This month’s movie is “Smallfoot.”
  • Play-Well TEKnologies will host “Jedi Engineering” at the Weber Road Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 4444 Weber Road from 2 to 4 p.m. Create motorized and architectural projects to defeat the Empire. For ages 6 to 11. Registration required at www.slcl.org/events.
  • A jitterswing dance will be held at the Concord Farmers Club, 10140 Concord School Road. Lessons start at 7 p.m. and dancing begins at 8 p.m.

  • The Christ Memorial Men’s Club and Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association will have a barbecue and homemade bake sale from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Christ Memorial Lutheran Church, 5252 S. Lindbergh Blvd.
  • The Monroe County History Museum, 724 Elaine Drive, 62298, will host Jan Wenk, who will present a program on the “1858 Steamboat Disaster in St. Louis” at 1:30 p.m.
  • The Sons of Union Veterans Ulysses S. Grant Camp #68, in partnership with the Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, 7400 Grant Road, will perform a death commemoration ceremony to mark the 134th anniversary of President Grant’s passing at 10 a.m.
  • Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, 7400 Grant Road, will host a bike ride with a park ranger along Grant’s Trail beginning at 10 a.m. The 4-mile round trip begins at Ulysses S.
