Dive into history | Through the creative use of historical images and modern perspectives, Amanda Clark will take you on a journey across St. Louis in search of everyday locations with big histories. This event for adults is presented by the Missouri History Museum, and it will take place from 2 – 3 p.m. at the Cliff Cave Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 5430 Telegraph Road.
Attend a local concert | Greensboro, a local five-man band, will entertain with the peaceful, easy feeling of country rock from 6 – 9 p.m. at Historic Sappington Park, 1015 S. Sappington Road. Enjoy live music while supporting this unique historic site. There will be free beer, soda and water while supplies last. Bring your own lawn chairs, food and drink — but no glass containers. Gates open at 5 p.m. Tickets, on sale at the gate, cost $20, but are free for children 12 and under. Call 314-822-8171 to learn more. There will be sales of mystery gift card boxes to boost fundraising efforts to benefit the Historic Sappington Houses in Crestwood; funds raised will go toward maintaining the historic Thomas Sappington House and reconstructing the Joseph Sappington Log House. This event was rescheduled from May 30 due to inclement weather.
Movie in the Park | Head to Whitecliff Park, 9245 Whitecliff Park Lane, for Crestwood’s Movies in the Park, which will show the film “Solo Mio” at 8:45 p.m. Bring your favorite snacks and drinks, though no glass containers are allowed.
Saturday, June 27
Race boats | From 9 – 11 a.m. at the Crestwood Aquatic Center, 9249 Whitecliff Park Lane, take part in the Cardboard Boat Regatta. Teams of up to four will design and construct cardboard boats using approved materials before racing across the pool to see who stays afloat. All ages are welcome, with family and adult divisions available. Bring your creativity, team spirit and a life jacket. This event is sponsored by Midwest Pool Management, and it costs $25 to enter. Dive into history | Head to the Missouri Civil War Museum, 222 Worth Road, for Jefferson Barracks Living History Day, featuring living historians, weapons demonstrations and static displays from various eras of American military history. This event will last from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is free with museum admission.

Join in worship | Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 3600 Hampton Ave., has worship recorded and streamed every Sunday from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. on Facebook and YouTube and in person.
Help those in need | The River Rock Church of Lemay will host its Better Rest program for families in the Lemay community who have children in need of a bed. Volunteers are wanted. Volunteers will go to homes to meet families and measure the bedrooms to make sure the bunk beds will fit. The church also needs volunteers to go into homes, build the bunk beds and gift bedding and Bibles. Donate new twin-size bedding, pillows, sheets, comforters and blankets at River Rock Church, 1601 Telegraph Road, from 9 a.m. to noon. Call the church office at 314-968-0600 if you have questions.
Dive into history | After eight years in the White House, Ulysses and Julia Grant needed a break. What began as a trip to London to visit their daughter Nellie ultimately turned into an unprecedented two-and-a-half-year tour around the world. As a war hero and former president, Grant was greeted as a celebrity and unofficial ambassador. Park Guide Jared Clark will trace the Grants’ adventure as they traveled through Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America. Conducted by Saint Louis Vets Connect, “Veterans Coffee Talk” was created so veterans can enjoy the brotherhood shared by all branches of service, providing a non-political atmosphere where their stories and valor can be shared. Cooking Club | Explore cooking techniques and recipes at the Cooking Club, which will take place from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Oak Bend Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 842 S.
