At Crestwood's 2026 Doggie Dive event, a dog brings a tennis ball back to its owner after swimming through the pool to retrieve it.
To celebrate the seasonal closing of the city’s aquatic center, Crestwood hosted its annual Doggie Dive event on Sept. 10, in which a portion of the proceeds went to the Crestwood Animal Shelter.
Following proof of vaccination and an entry fee, dogs of all sizes were able to swim and play in two of the center’s pools so long as they were accompanied by a handler over the age of 14. At the gate, the event cost $15 for Crestwood residents and $20 for non-residents.
Nearby municipality Sunset Hills, too, opened its aquatic center to neighborhood dogs at the close of its pool season. Those events, dubbed Dog Splash, were held on Sept. 9 and 11.
