The Lindbergh Farmers Club recently received a $2,500 donation that will go toward raised garden beds on the farm. The gift was given by the St. Louis County Farm Bureau at its annual meeting, where representatives from Lindbergh Schools were presented with a check.

This monetary donation will fund an upcoming construction project that “will bring hands-on, cross-curricular learning directly to Lindbergh High School students,” according to chief communications officer Beth Johnston.

“We are so grateful to the Farm Bureau for their generous donation to the Lindbergh Farmers Club,” Melissa Nussbaum, the onsite educator for the Lindbergh Farmers Club, said. “Partnerships like this allow us to offer hands-on, real-world learning in agriculture, technology and sustainability for our students. Partnering with the Farm Bureau supports our mission of honoring the history of the original Concord Farmers Club while connecting our students to St. Louis’s growing role as a global hub for (agriculture and technology) innovation.”

Students enrolled in Geometry in Construction — a new class at Lindbergh High School, taught by math teacher Jonah Boyd and technology and engineering teacher Mike Imboden — will be working on a project using the donation money. The students will construct approximately 24 raised garden beds to be used in the Lindbergh Farmers Club.
