Dive into history | As the park commemorates the 200th anniversary of Julia Dent Grant’s birth in 2026, a special exhibit about her life will be on display throughout the summer. Through Julia’s personal items, visitors will be immersed in her role as a family-oriented woman and public figure. Historian and Curator Nick Sacco will discuss the work involved in curating this exhibit at 10 a.m. at the Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, 7400 Grant Road. He will also highlight several artifacts including the oldest known photo of Julia from the early 1850s, materials from her 1848 wedding, and a first edition copy of her Personal Memoirs. The exhibit will officially open following the program, and attendees are invited to be among the first to explore this uniquely assembled collection. The exhibit will run through Sept. 30 in the museum rotunda. The program is free but you can call 314-842-1867 ext. 230 for reservations.
Celebrate Hawaiian culture| Celebrate Hawaiian culture with crafts, sensory play, music and dance from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Cliff Cave Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 5430 Telegraph Road. This event is for children ages 2-5.

Copies of the book will be available at the service desk. This event is meant for teens and adults. The film is rated PG-13 and has a runtime of 142 minutes. The book discussion will begin at 3:30 p.m.
Splashtacular Summer Kickoff | Kick off summer at Whitecliff with a splash! Head to the Splashtacular Summer Kickoff to celebrate the start of the season with free pool access, a live DJ, food trucks, games and activities for all ages. The kickoff will take place from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Crestwood Aquatic Center, 9245 Whitecliff Park Lane.

Help those in need | The River Rock Church of Lemay will host its Better Rest program for families in the Lemay community who have children in need of a bed. Volunteers are wanted. Volunteers will go to homes to meet families and measure the bedrooms to make sure the bunk beds will fit. The church also needs volunteers to go into homes, build the bunk beds and gift bedding and Bibles. Donate new twin-size bedding, pillows, sheets, comforters and blankets at River Rock Church, 1601 Telegraph Road, from 9 a.m. to noon. Call the church office at 314-968-0600 if you have questions.
