Oakville High School alumna Adelaide “Addie” Frank recently wrapped up her first year as a professional athlete, debuting in the Women’s Pro Baseball League’s inaugural season. In celebration of her success, the 18-year-old, who currently plays for the Los Angeles Queens, will be recognized at Lester’s Restaurant in Ladue.
The event will be held at the restaurant, located at 9906 Clayton Road, on Oct. 3 at 4 p.m.
Part of the honor includes Frank adding a signed baseball to the restaurant’s assortment of autographed baseballs, becoming the first woman represented in the collection. Lester’s owner, Pedro Beltranena, has also created the “Addie Frankfurter,” a meal made specifically for this event, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Baseball For All: a national nonprofit dedicated to creating opportunities for girls to play, coach and lead in baseball.
Following a standout performance during tryouts in August 2025, Frank was drafted by the Queens last November, selected as the third pick in the sixth round of the first-ever Women’s Pro Baseball League draft, when she was just 17 years old. The league currently has four teams: the Boston Hunters, the New York Heights, the San Francisco Fireballs and the Queens — though all four teams played in Springfield, Illinois this year.
Among the youngest players in the league, Frank, a first baseman, hit .333 during the season.
The Queens closed the season by winning the league’s championship in a five-game series that ended on Sept. 22 with a 2-0 win over San Francisco. The regular season record for Los Angeles was 8-7, earning them second place in the league — tied with New York, which has the same record — after San Francisco at 10-5.
