Get moving | Toddler Time Yoga is a community movement and mindfulness class designed for children ages 2-6 years old, accompanied by a trusted adult. The class blends physical activity, mindfulness practices and social-emotional learning in a supportive, community environment. Activities include exploring yoga shapes, singing, reading and engaging in play that develops both fine and gross motor skills, balance, breathing and social skills. This event, taught by Grace Eberle, will be located at the Sunset Hills Community Center, 3915 S. Lindbergh Blvd., from 9:30 – 10 a.m. Pre-registration is required by clicking here. The program costs $60 for the full six weeks or $15 for a single class.

Explore artistic creations | The Annual Midwest Metalsmiths Art Show returns this fall, celebrating 30 years as the Midwest’s leading metalsmithing organization. This milestone year brings together the region’s most talented metalsmiths and jewelry artists for a weekend of creativity, craftsmanship and community. As the largest gathering of metalsmith artists in the St. Louis area, this juried show will feature more than 20 artists showcasing their original, handmade creations. It will take place at the First Congregational Church of Webster Groves, 10 W. Lockwood Ave., from noon – 7 p.m.
It’s party time | Wear your favorite costume for an afternoon of spooky treats, games and crafts at the Boo Bash, which will take place from 2 – 3 p.m. at the Grant’s View Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 9700 Musick Road. Open to children and families.
Play a game | Discover a new game or enjoy your favorite with others. Various card and board games will be available at the Weber Road Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 4444 Weber Road, from 2 – 3:30 p.m.
See a show | Ghost Kitchen will cover the Grateful Dead, the Allman Brothers, Tom Petty and more deceased rockers’ greatest hits at an outdoor fundraising concert held from 6 – 9 p.m. at Historic Sappington Park, 1015 S. Sappington Road. Funds raised will go toward maintaining the brick Thomas Sappington House and rebuilding the Joseph Sappington Log House. Bring lawn chairs, food and drinks. Gates open at 5 p.m., and the concert begins at 6 p.m. Tickets — $20 for adults and free for children under 12 years old —will be sold at the gate.
Learn about light and night | “Star light, star bright” is a family program with a touch of whimsy, focused on reducing light pollution at your home, taking place at the Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, 7400 Grant Road, from 7-8 p.m. Guests will discover the easiest way to identify the brightest objects in the night sky from their own backyard. The program will begin in the theater. Afterward, guests will use the telescope for stargazing, weather permitting. The program is free. Call 314-842-1867 ext. 230 for reservations.
Saturday, Oct. 18
Make a difference | Help clean up the River Des Peres Watershed from 8:45 – 11 a.m. at Whitecliff Park, 9245 Whitecliff Park Lane. This is a land-based cleanup. Volunteers will receive a free T-shirt. This event is rain or shine. In case of severe weather, updates will be posted on the Open Space STL Facebook page and sent via email. Volunteers should meet at the lower lot at Whitecliff Park. After signing in (and enjoying donuts and juice provided by Schnucks), volunteers will spend a couple of hours cleaning up the creek banks. All volunteers must have a signed/approved OS-STL liability waiver before registering. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. After the cleanup, join us at Deer Creek Park for a celebratory picnic with food, drinks, camaraderie and the youth event Passport to Clean Water.
Get crafty | Family Craft Hour will take place at the Cliff Cave Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 5430 Telegraph Road, from 10 – 11 a.m. This month’s focus is silly monster art. This program is for children and families; registration is required. Visit slcl.org/events for more information.

With over 100 booths expected, the Makers Market brings together both seasoned and emerging artists from across the region for a full day of creativity, community, and discovery. Editor’s Note: this event has been canceled due to the possibility of inclement weather. Makers Market has been rescheduled for May 2, 2026.
