The deadline for local seniors to apply for the St. Louis County senior property tax freeze — or renew their applications from last year — is quickly approaching, with a deadline on June 30.
To qualify for the tax freeze, individuals must: be 62 years of age or older; own the property or have a legal or equitable interest; and primarily reside in the propery.
In-person assistance with filling out the application will be offered from Monday to Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a brief closure for lunch from noon to 12:30 p.m. Seniors can take advantage of this assistance at the South County Government Center, 4554 Lemay Ferry Road, or at the Clayton or North County offices.
Seniors can also get assistance creating an email address if they do not already have one.
Appointments and walk-ins are both accepted, though appointments are “strongly encouraged and take priority over walk-in traffic,” according to the county.
