Make a difference | St. Louis County will host an electronics recycling event at Jefferson Barracks Park, 345 North Road, from 8 – 11 a.m. Drop off any electronic item that has a cord or is powered by a battery. Personal information stored on laptops, computers, and other devices is destroyed in a secure manner. County residents receive up to two items free as funding allows.
Get crafty | Bring in your crochet, knit, crewel, cross-stitch, needlepoint, embroidery or other project to the Grant’s View Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 9700 Musick Road, to learn and enjoy in the company of others. This event will take place from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Discuss a book | Greg Wolk will discuss his newest book, John Frémont’s 100 Days in Civil War Missouri, at the Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, 7400 Grant Road, from 10 – 11 a.m. The book mentions Grant’s activities during his wartime days in the state, which overlapped to a considerable extent with Frémont’s tenure. The book tracks Grant’s progress from Quincy, Illinois, to Belmont, Missouri, and his relationship to Frémont — the man who put him on the road to success. The program is free. Celebrate Halloween | Lindbergh High School’s student council will host Boonanza, a free Halloween event for children of all ages, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at LHS, 5000 S. Lindbergh Blvd. There will be carnival games, a cake walk, bouncy houses, haunted hallways, a costume contest, live reptiles and hayrides.
Celebrate Halloween | Visitors are welcomed inside the Thomas Sappington House Museum, 1015 Sappington Road, to see and hear the Spirits, returned from the dead, telling their stories, in dramatic vignettes from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. The co-director of the Spirits of Sappington House, Denise Lutes, explains, “Outside the house, it’s the autumn of 2025. Step inside and go back almost 200 years. Truly experience history in the very rooms where it really happened!” Meet historical figures, view eerie medical tools, visit Father Dickson Cemetery and hear dramatic Edgar Allen Poe recitations by Anne Williams.
