At least six South County students have been named as recipients of the Missouri Scholars 100 award, and one received an honorable mention. The award is run by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals (MAoSSP), and it recognizes 100 outstanding seniors across the state for their academic achievements.
South County students in the Missouri 100 represent Lindbergh Schools, Mehlville School District, Cor Jesu Academy and Notre Dame High School.
To qualify for the Missouri 100, students must have a minimum GPA of 3.75, a minimum ACT score of 29 or a minimum SAT score of 1,280, rank in the upper 10% of their class and be enrolled in advanced coursework in mathematics, science, English and foreign language. These students are also required to have good attendance and citizenship, and they must actively participate in their high school’s activity program.
William Lin from Lindbergh High School is the district’s one recipient of the Missouri 100 award for 2026.
“I’m incredibly proud that William will represent Lindbergh High School as one of the top students in Missouri,” Head Principal Eric Cochran said. “Lindbergh has a long, consistent history of having students who are recognized with this award. William truly deserved this recognition by meeting the very rigorous academic, attendance and leadership requirements. While William’s achievement celebrates his hard work and innate academic talent, it also reflects the contributions of his family, his teachers at Lindbergh and his classmates.”
The Mehlville School District has three students who are part of the 2026 Missouri 100: Dominic Cusanelli and Alex Ottenlips from Oakville High School, and Aidan Furgeson from Mehlville High School. Elise Barbier from Mehlville High School received an honorable mention.
“Earning recognition from the Missouri Scholars 100 program is one of the greatest honors a high school senior in Missouri can receive,” Mehlville Superintendent Jeff Haug said. “It is a testament to the hard work each of these four students has put in during their time in the Mehlville School District and their readiness to succeed in life following graduation. We are proud of them and excited to see all they accomplish in their next chapter.”
As for South County private schools, Nichole Dause from Notre Dame High School received the Missouri 100 award, and Maggie Heffernan represents Cor Jesu Academy in the Missouri 100.
There will be a special luncheon hosted at the Holiday Inn Executive Center in Columbia, Missouri to recognize these students’ accomplishments on May 3.
