With a trio of seniors to lead the way into the 2026 season, the Oakville girls tennis team is poised for success.
“We’re looking great,” Oakville head coach Cora Stout said. “We have a great group of girls, and everyone is working really hard. The girls have a great attitude with great team culture.”
Senior Lexi Hailey will serve as this year’s team co-captain and is slated as one of the Tigers’ top players in 2026.
“Lexi continues to be our star player,” Stout said. “She has great form and executes plays on the court. She’s very humble and works really hard year-round on her game.”
Another senior that will also serve as a co-captain is Elmedina Elijazovic.
“Elmedina’s got a lot of power behind her serves, and she’s a great leader on the team,” Stout said. “She leads our stretching routines after practice, which is good to see.”
The third senior to serve as co-captain on this year’s squad is Ena Vranjkovina.
“She works really well with the other varsity players on the team,” Stout said. “She’s a strong player that’s versatile and has a good serve.”
Junior Alina Muminovic is known for playing with a lot of tenacity on the court.
“Alina is always working on the skills of her own strokes as well as the strategy on the court,” Stout said. “She’s a player that plays with a lot of tenacity.”
Another junior that could make waves in the Tigers lineup this season is Gabby Haasis.
“Gabby’s got a pretty full background in tennis, and she teaches tennis in the offseason,” Stout said. “She also works with the boys team to really help strengthen our tennis culture at Oakville.”
The Oakville Tigers girls tennis team will begin the 2026 season on Aug. 28 at Washington (Missouri).
