Peace Lutheran holding annual German Advent service Dec. 11.

The Frauenchor — Ladies Chorus — of the St. Louis German Cultural Society will perform  at the German Christmas Vesper Service at Peace Lutheran Church.

The Rev. Dr. Robert Kolb will preach at the German Advent/Christmas Service at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11 at Peace Lutheran Church, 737 Barracksview Road.

Kolb, a professor at the Concordia Theological Seminary in St. Louis who did graduate study in Europe, will be accompanied by music from the Liederkranz (men’s chorus) and Frauenchor (ladies choir) of the St. Louis German Cultural Society. They will sing seasonal numbers in German.

Peace Lutheran Choristers, under the direction of Alexia Arensmeier, will sing carols in the vernacular.  Ian Furgeson will be the organist. The festive setting, including congregational singing, will be in German; however, English helps will be provided.
