Amidst other budget cuts and the closure of the Kennedy Recreation Complex’s pool, the St. Louis County Council has passed a bill that raises the daily admission price to the aquatic center at The Pavilion at Lemay. The same price increase for daily admission also took place for pool-goers at the North County Recreation Complex.
For seniors and children ages 4-12, the price of daily admission will increase from $6 to $8; for adults ages 13-64, the price will increase from $8 to $10.
Season passes at The Pavilion’s aquatic center will not change. The price will remain $84 for seniors and children ages 4-12 and $102 for adults ages 13-64. Family season passes, which account for two adults and up to three dependents of the same household, remain at $240, with each additional member costing another $36.
County Executive Sam Page cited rising costs and the $48 million budget deficit as the reason for the price increase for pool admission. On Feb. 11, Page announced that the Kennedy Aquatic Center would be unable to open for the summer — it is currently unknown how long it will be shuttered or if it is ever to reopen.
