Thomas Trout, Director of Operations at the Missouri Civil War Museum, leads a tour of the grounds of Jefferson Barracks on July 11.
The Jefferson Barracks Bicentennial Symposium honored the 200-year anniversary of the first soldiers arriving at Sylvan Springs, just south of St. Louis, to establish a new U.S. Army post. That post would become Jefferson Barracks. Attendees could see parade grounds, historic buildings and the national cemetery, as well as attend related presentations.
