Over 60 tables manned by representatives of local historic sites, museums and cultural organizations were set up for attendees of the 2026 St. Louis Area History Showcase to visit.
St. Louisans came together on June 6 to celebrate the heritage and history of the city.
Over 60 historic sites, museums, authors and cultural organizations from across the region were present at the St. Louis Area History Showcase, hosted at Jefferson Barracks Park. The festival-style event highlighted the founding of the United States, as well as the St. Louis area’s impact on the country’s growth, innovation and diversity. Historical demonstrations — including re-enactors and live performances — were plentiful for all to enjoy.
This year’s showcase was particularly significant as it is the 200th anniversary of Jefferson Barracks, the oldest active U.S. military installation west of the Mississippi River.
