Drivers who use westbound Interstate 44 near Interstate 270 should look for alternative routes as the Missouri Department of Transportation will close the highway for bridgework on beginning Friday, July 23 through July 26.
Crews will close the route to replace a girder removed during work on the I-270 bridge earlier in July.
All westbound lanes under I-270 will be closed by 8 p.m. Friday, July 23. The ramps from northbound I-270 to westbound I-44 and westbound Route 366 (Watson Road) to westbound I-44 will close at that same time. To get back to westbound I-44, drivers should follow northbound I-270 to Dougherty Ferry and take southbound I-270 to the westbound I-44 ramp.
Westbound I-44 should reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, July 26.
