Make a difference | The Meramec Valley Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 1501 San Simeon Way, will hold a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Support the Red Cross and help patients in need by donating blood. Donors may be 16 years old with parental consent or 17 years old and up. All donors must present a photo ID. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments will take priority. Shop ‘til you drop | Mehlville Panther Nation will be hosting its annual Panther Bazaar & BBQ — formerly called Tailgate Sale — from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mehlville High School, 3200 Lemay Ferry Road. This is one of South County’s largest outdoor vendor fair/flea market events. Admission and parking are free for all shoppers. No early birds. Beautify your community | The City of Crestwood is hosting a Honeysuckle Hack from 9 a.m. to noon at Crestwood Park, 9700 Meadowfern Drive. Fall into the autumn by joining the community in combating invasive species in local parks! As a part of the city’s Operation Wild Lands program and the Missouri Department of Conservation’s Back to Nature STL grant, Crestwood is partnering with Open Space STL and Beautify Crestwood on a series of stewardship events at Crestwood Park. This volunteer opportunity will focus on removing the invasive bush honeysuckle shrub, vines and other non-desirable plants from the park. Meet furry friends | Meet dogs and cats from Love on a Leash and share a story with them at the Meramec Valley Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 1501 San Simeon Way, from 10 – 11 a.m. This event is for children ages 6-11.
Get your workout in | Ride your bike between the Grant’s View and Oak Bend branches of the St. Louis County Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for prizes, kids’ programming, wellness activities and more. Start at the Grant’s View Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 9700 Musick Road, and grab a passport map to collect stamps and earn prizes at stops along the way. The event will kick off with donuts and close with Gus’ pretzels. This event is in partnership with Great Rivers Greenway, the Sappington House and Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site.

Join in worship | The Monastery of St. Clare, 200 Marycrest Drive, will host an All-Day Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament beginning at 7:30 a.m. You may receive the special plenary indulgence by praying at the Monastery of St. Clare. The day will conclude with an evening prayer with the sisters and Benediction at 4:30 p.m.

Dive into history | The Oak Bend Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 842 S. Holmes Ave., will host Ted Michaels, a co-construction manager on the historic 1816 Joseph Sappington Log House, from 2 – 3 p.m. Michaels will show how the logs will be chinked and the roof raised on the major preservation project at nearby Historic Sappington Houses, offering a new rustic educational and event venue in the area.
Learn gardening tips | Fred Ortlip — master gardener, adjunct professor at STLCC-Forest Park, retired journalist and landscape design expert from Sugar Creek Nursery — will discuss how to prepare your garden in the fall to ensure a successful and prosperous spring garden season at “Speaker Series: Putting Your Garden to Sleep to Wake Up in the Spring with Plants Galore.” This free event, presented by the Sunset Hills Conservation Foundation, will be held from 2 – 3 p.m. at the Sunset Hills Community Center, 3915 S.
