- See a show | Jason D’Vaude, “The Circus Man,” is bringing circus fun to the Meramec Valley Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 1501 San Simeon Way, from 2 – 3 p.m. Children and families are invited for an interactive show with juggling, silliness and magic.
- Practice your art | Teenagers can stretch their painting skills by decorating their very own tote bag at the Cliff Cave Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 5430 Telegraph Road, from 3 – 4 p.m. This event is free, though registration is required beforehand by visiting slcl.org/events.
Saturday, June 28
- Discover model trains | Young or old, if you have a passion for trains, you’re invited to the Grant’s View Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 9700 Musick Road, for Train Day. Prepare for the Fourth of July by seeing a display of model patriotic trains from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you have an ‘O’ gauge or standard gauge train, feel free to bring it with you and run it on the tracks.
- Play pickleball | The Affton Community Center, 9801 Mackenzie Road, is hosting open pickleball from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 1:15 to 3:15 p.m. Admission is $3 per person or free for Renew Active and SilverSneakers members. Reservations start Monday at 8 a.m. by calling 314-615-8822.
- Make a difference | Love tea? Want to support animals? You’re invited to the Tea for Tails Luncheon and Antique, where you can take tea and eat a light lunch at the Crestwood Community Center, 9245 Whitecliff Park Lane. The event is from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and costs $35 per person. All proceeds go toward the Open Door Animal Sanctuary. RSVPs are required. To RSVP, call 314-352-7342.
- Dive into history | Adults are invited to the Grant’s View Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 9700 Musick Road, to see and hear the stories behind military jackets worn throughout 20th-century military history. This free event is from 2 – 3 p.m.

Wednesday, July 2
- Connect with others | Join other veterans at “Veterans Coffee Talk” hosted at American Legion Post 162, 9305 S. Broadway Street, at 9 a.m. every Wednesday. Conducted by Saint Louis Vets Connect, “Veterans Coffee Talk” was created so veterans can enjoy the brotherhood shared by all branches of service, providing a non-political atmosphere where their stories and valor can be shared. Free donuts and coffee – and occasionally breakfast – will be provided.

- Connect with others | The White Haven Readers’ Guild invites you to join their book club. For this meeting, the club will discuss “The General and Julia,” a novel by Jon Clinch, at the Ulysses S.
