Happy Fourth of July from The Call!

- Celebrate Independence Day | The historic Oakland House Museum, 7801 Genesta Street, is hosting a BBQ – featuring a traditional barbecue picnic and activities including music, games, raffles and tours of the 19th-century home – from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Reserve your seat online at oaklandhousemuseum.org. Tickets are $22 for adults and $8 for children under the age of 12.

- Celebrate Independence Day | Grant’s Farm, 7385 Grant Road, is hosting a “drone show spectacular” in the Bauernhof Courtyard. Start your night with a relaxing tram ride to the courtyard, where you can settle in for food, drinks and live music by the local band Boogie Chyld, starting at 6 p.m. Instead of fireworks, drones will take to the air at 9 p.m. Tickets are $12 per person, and children under the age of 3 get complimentary entry. Saturday, July 5
- It’s playtime | School’s out for the summer, and playtime is beckoning. LEGO Club is coming to the Oak Bend Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 842 S. Holmes Ave., from 10 – 11 a.m. Children ages 5 to 12 are invited to meet up and build their own imaginative creations. LEGOs will be provided.
- It’s playtime | Bring your baby and allow them to take part in sensory play from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Cliff Cave Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 5430 Telegraph Road. Playtime is in a relaxed group setting and open for children ages 0 to 24 months.

- Join in worship | Beginning at 7:30 a.m., there will be All-Day Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. You may receive the special plenary indulgence by praying at the Monastery of St. Clare, 200 Marycrest Drive. The day will conclude with evening prayer with the Sisters and Benediction at 4:30 p.m.
- Join in worship | Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 3600 Hampton Ave., has worship recorded and streamed every Sunday from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. on Facebook and YouTube and in person.

Conducted by Saint Louis Vets Connect, “Veterans Coffee Talk” was created so veterans can enjoy the brotherhood shared by all branches of service, providing a non-political atmosphere where their stories and valor can be shared. Free donuts and coffee – and occasionally breakfast – will be provided.

Michelle “Mike” Ochonicky, an award-winning scrimshaw artist, will lead the discussion and share some of her art.
