Two new Tidal Wave car washes have opened on Lindbergh Boulevard, one in Concord Village and the other in Sunset Hills, and another could be on the way in Concord.

Tidal Wave Luxury Wash, a car wash company based out of Chesterfield, has opened a new full-service wash in Sunset Hills known as Tidal Wave Wash Center, 3720 S. Lindbergh Blvd., in addition to a new express wash center in Concord, 5677 S. Lindbergh.

The car wash in Sunset Hills is billed as a “wash center,” with a full- service car wash, gas station, convenience store, a cafe featuring Kaldi’s Coffee and a drive-thru Smoothie King.

A third South County location is listed on Tidal Wave’s website as “coming soon” at 13047 Butler Crest Drive, off Butler Hill Road and across from the MetLife Building. That Tidal Wave would include both a full service and express wash. However, the property is still listed for sale at press time and is currently zoned R-3 residential and C-8 commercial according to the listing, so it could require rezoning through St. Louis County before any plans are finalized. Nothing has come up yet for a public hearing at the county Planning Commission on that project.

The Sunset Hills Tidal Wave hours are 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, with full service washes offered from 7 30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The convenience store in Sunset Hills is open daily from 5 a.m. to midnight.

The new Tidal Wave opened in December 2020 at the site of the former Econo Lodge in Sunset Hills, which was demolished in 2018. Mayor Pat Fribis broke a tie of the Sunset Hills Board of Aldermen to allow the Tidal Wave. The Southwest Area Chamber of Commerce awarded the Tidal Wave its Community Service award for replacing the notorious Econo Lodge, which had been a crime hotspot for the Sunset Hills Police Department before it closed.

A few miles down Lindbergh Boulevard near Green Park, the express wash in Concord replaced the former Concord Car Wash and Detail, which closed in 2018. The new car wash kept and updated the iconic car wash sign.

The express wash, which opened in October 2020, is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

The opening of the two new South County locations brings the total number of Tidal Wave Car Washes in the St. Louis area, including full-service and express washes, to 13.
