Citizens vote at the Sunset Hills Community Center April 2, 2019.

These are the final, official election results for South County from the April 4 election as of April 13, with 100 percent of precincts reporting.

There are 650,198 registered voters in the county; 117,864 ballots were counted for an 18.1% voter turnout rate.

The Mehlville School District’s Proposition E, a 31-cent tax rate increase, won with over 60 percent of the vote. A simple majority was needed to pass. The additional revenue will be used to fund competitive salaries for teachers and support staff in the district.

St. Louis County, as well as several municipalities including Crestwood and Sunset Hills, saw victory with their respective “Proposition M”  — a 3% local sales tax on adult recreational marijuana sales in those municipalities and unincorporated St. Louis County.  The tax is in addition to an existing 6% statewide tax on adult sales.

In the Lindbergh school district the two incumbents running for the board, Matt Alonzo and Christy Watz, earned another three-year term, along with newcomer Andrew Lawson. There were three open seats with five candidates running.

And in the Mehlville Fire Protection District Aaron Hilmer will serve another six-year term on the board after defeating Fred Baumgarth. Hilmer was first elected in 2005.
