The Sappington-Concord Historical Society will host its annual Memorial Day celebration on May 25 at St. Lucas United Church of Christ, 11735 Denny Road, at 9 a.m. The free event, held outside on the green, is family-friendly and open to the public.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, and parking will be available on the east parking lot at St. Lucas.
This year’s speaker is retired U.S. Air Force Col. Robert L. “Bob” McDaniel. McDaniel served in the military for 25 years, before returning to civilian airport management. He today serves as president and founding director of AeroCareers, a non-profit aerospace charitable and educational corporation.
As with previous years, this year’s celebration will also include musical performances by Dr. Marty Schmidt, the Moolah Drum Corps and the Lindbergh High School Spirit of St. Louis Marching Band.
