Dinner-goers visit 9 Mile Garden, a food truck garden in Affton, in July 2020.

This Halloween, 9 Mile Garden, Missouri’s first food truck garden, will transform into the Haunted Garden for two Halloween-themed events.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, the garden is hosting Howl-O-Ween. The event includes a Halloween pet costume contest at 1:30 p.m. and a lineup of local food trucks.

There will be beer sampling by Urban Chestnut Brewing Company, swag and prizes from Purina, adoptable pets from Needy Paws Rescue and a rescue puppy kissing booth. Entry to Howl-O-Ween is free with food truck snacks, cocktails, beer, and soft drinks available for purchase.

On Halloween night, the garden will feature a haunted maze, trick or treating with local businesses and food trucks, along with magicians, tarot card readers and psychics. Additionally, at 4 p.m. the big screen will feature the movie, The Monster Squad.

For adult Halloween partygoers, there is a full evening of fun with the movie Poltergeist playing on the big screen at 7 p.m., an adult costume contest with a $100 cash prize, a late-night DJ from 9 p.m. to midnight, along with free beer and spirits samples throughout the evening.

9 Mile Garden will have gift card giveaways all night long and host live music in between the movies. Entry is free with cocktails, soft drinks, and food truck meals available for purchase.
