Construction is soon beginning on Affton Fire House 1, located at 9282 Gravois Road. As a result, administrative staff for the Affton Fire Protection District (AFPD) will temporarily operate from House 2, 8110 Valcour Ave., and House 1 crews will temporarily operate from House 2 and House 3, 4990 Seibert Ave.
This construction project is funded through the taxpayer-approved bond initiative passed in 2024; House 3 will later be renovated.
“The renovation of Houses 1 and 3 is an important investment in the district’s infrastructure and will provide updated living and working spaces for our firefighter/paramedics, improved training facilities, and expanded administrative capabilities to better support the services we provide to our community,” AFPD stated in a news release.
According to AFPD, emergency response coverage is expected to remain unchanged throughout construction.
