Bosnian artist Aida Šehović’s work is visiting Laumeier Sculpture Park Sept. 25 through Dec. 19 as part of Laumeier’s Visiting Artist in Residence program.
The exhibition includes the archive of “ŠTO TE NEMA,” a public monument to the victims of the 1995 Srebrenica genocide, which traveled to 15 cities around the world between 2006 and 2020. In addition, a photo installation from Šehović’s related body of work “Family Album,” will be presented.
St. Louis has the largest population of Bosnian people in the United States and the exhibition connects to a growing population of first and second generation Bosnians in the St. Louis area, many of whom were displaced as a result of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1992-1995.
