The Watering Bowl, a South County dog daycare, is petitioning for a move to 12525 Worthington Drive after being displaced earlier this year.

The St. Louis County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the proposal Monday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. via WebEx video conference. Instructions for joining the video conference can be found here.

The public hearing was originally scheduled for Oct. 11.

With the approval of a QuikTrip at the corner of Lemay Ferry and South Lindbergh Boulevard by the County Planning Commission and County Council earlier this year, the Watering Bowl was forced to look for a new place to call home.

The large QuikTrip development will also take out the existing St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, which is next to The Water Bowl.

The proposed plan is 1.63 acres on an island between Worthington Drive, Mattis Road and Old Tesson Ferry Road. It calls for a zoning change from R-2 15,000 squarefoot Residence District to C-8 Planned Commercial District.

The proposed use is for a pet care facility, including overnight boarding of pets, and all C-2 Shopping District permitted uses.

The building on the site will remain and 21 parking spots, a grass yard, fence and vegetation are proposed additions.
