- Learn about history | The Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, 7400 Grant Road, is hosting “Ranger Talk” from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. Recent research has uncovered stories of enslaved persons that had been lost to history. Park Historian Nick Sacco will discuss the stories of the enslaved on the White Haven property from the time the home was first built until the enslaved were freed in 1865 with the 13th Amendment. - Join in worship | Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 3600 Hampton Ave., has worship recorded and streamed every Sunday from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. on Facebook and YouTube and in person.
- Play with pets | St. Lucas UCC, 11735 Denny Road, is hosting a “Pet Blessing and Rescue Celebration” from noon – 2 p.m. There will be blessings for pets, a kissing booth, refreshments and an opportunity to create blessing bags to be offered to people who are in need and traveling with their beloved pets. Several rescue groups from the area will also be present.

- Grab a free lunch | The Weber Road Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 4444 Weber Road, is offering summer lunches from noon – 1 p.m. Operation Food Search will provide free lunches to children at select SLCL locations this summer, Monday through Friday. Stop by and enjoy a nutritious lunch along with some activities for kids. Meals will be available free of charge for children ages 0 – 18. Groups, please contact the hosting branch at least 24 hours prior to attending so that the proper amount of meals may be ordered.

- See a show | The Oak Bend Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 842 S. Holmes Ave., is hosting “Sound Safari Theater” from 10 -11 a.m. Presented by Charlie the Noiseguy, learn how to create funny sounds and use them in stories, cartoons and comics. Open to children and families.

- Learn about history | The Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, 7400 Grant Road, is hosting a special exhibit opening commemorating 140 years since Grant’s death from 3:30 – 4:00 p.m. July 23 marks 140 years since the passing of Ulysses S. Grant. This special exhibit will feature dozens of artifacts not only from the park’s collection, but also from other collectors from around the country. Be the first to see this special exhibit in the rotunda of the museum. The exhibit will officially open following a brief introduction by park historian Nick Sacco and will run until early August. The program is free, and reservations are not required.
- Watch a movie | The Grant’s View Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 9700 Musick Road, is hosting “Summer Movie: ‘Goonies’” from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. The film has an MPAA rating of PG and a runtime of 114 minutes. Feel free to bring comfy lawn chairs and blankets. Popcorn will be provided. Open to children and families.

- Connect with others | Join other veterans at “Veterans Coffee Talk” hosted at American Legion Post 162, 9305 S. Broadway Street, at 9 a.m. every Wednesday. Conducted by Saint Louis Vets Connect, “Veterans Coffee Talk” was created so veterans can enjoy the brotherhood shared by all branches of service, providing a non-political atmosphere where their stories and valor can be shared. Free donuts and coffee – and occasionally breakfast – will be provided.
- Learn about nature | The Oak Bend Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 842 S. Holmes Ave., is hosting “Backyard Animals” from 10 -11 a.m. Presented by the Endangered Wolf Center, discover native backyard animals, their environmental roles and local conservation efforts.
