Smaller government serves citizens better, Green Park reader says

Letter to the Editor

To the editor:
I am a resident of Green Park and have been attending Board of Aldermen meetings for the last six months.
I attend the meetings to let the city officials know that I am paying attention to what they are doing. They have done a wonderful job of bringing in business to our city, along with tax revenues.
They have replaced many of our streets and they listen to my voice, agree or disagree.
County government is much bigger and barely listens to you unless you know someone or write a check. Merging the city and county would give the residents of south county a small voice at best.
Tell your elected officials no to the merger and leave our county councilman alone, so we have our voice in county government.
