The annual JB Blast fireworks show at Jefferson Barracks has been postponed to October this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The 2020 JB Blast will now take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, according to the updated Facebook event post. It was originally slated for Friday, July 3.
The event — one of the largest fireworks celebrations in St. Louis County — draws thousands of people each year to Jefferson Barracks Park.
But the Jefferson Barracks Historic Site wrote on the Facebook event, “Keeping the health and safety of the public and our staff in mind, the annual JB Blast has been rescheduled to Friday, October 2…. We look forward to celebrating together when it is safe to do so. You can expect the same great food, music and fireworks on the new date!”
Attendees will be able to enjoy music under the stars at Veterans Memorial Amphitheater and a brilliant fireworks display.
This year’s event will not be the first JB Blast to be rescheduled. The event was postponed several times in recent years due to too much rain at Jefferson Barracks.
