Food boxes will be given away at COVID distribution event Thursday at Mehlville High

State representatives Jim Murphy of Oakville and David Gregory of Sunset Hills will host a COVID food distribution event Thursday, Sept. 3.

The distribution will take place from 10 a.m. until noon at Mehlville High School, 3200 Lemay Ferry Road, 63125, or whenever the food is fully disbursed.

Pre-boxed food items include produce, dairy, bread, chips, water, frozen pizza and chocolate. The food will be given away free.

“Since the pandemic, it’s been reported that over 17% of students under the age of 12 are not able to eat enough at home,” Gregory wrote in a Facebook post.

Parents will be able to safely drive by and pick up the boxes, Gregory added.

“As our community continues to weather the impact of the Coronavirus, Rep. David Gregory and I are pleased to sponsor this COVID Food Distribution in support of our community,” Murphy said on his Facebook page.
