Auto dealer seeks rezoning from county

The county Planning Commission is scheduled to conduct a public hearing next week on a request by an auto dealer for a change in commercial zoning along Baptist Church Road.
The planning panel will meet for the hearing at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, in the County Council Chambers at the Administration Building at 41 S. Central Ave., Clayton.
Leta Venture II, headquartered at Frank Leta Honda in O’Fallon, is requesting a change from C-2 Shopping District to C-8 Planned Commercial District for a 1-acre site at 11668 Baptist Church Road, roughly 120 feet south of Concord Village Avenue and the north side of Tesson Ferry Road.
After a rezoning request last year, the dealership has already been using the site for vehicle sales, repair and inventory, just as it was previously used for Walden’s Automotive and the same as Luxury Sports & Imports next door.
