To the editor:
I am concerned about our movement toward authoritarianism and the loss of basic civil liberties such as freedom of speech and voting rights. At the same time, we have unaffordable costs, executive corruption and constant chaos.
The Republican-led Congress remains silent while the Constitution, the rule of law and basic decency are under attack. That silence becomes complicit permission for the executive branch. This was not the intent of our founders, nor is it our historical norm.
Ann Wagner is my congressional representative. Her silence and reluctance to speak truth to power do not represent her constituents in Missouri’s 2nd Congressional District. Ann Wagner is not fulfilling her oath to the Constitution and does not belong in Congress.
November 2026 may be our last chance to change the leadership of Congress. My support will be for Fred Wellman, a West Point and Harvard Kennedy School graduate. As a 22-year Army veteran who served multiple tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, Fred stands by his oath to the Constitution. Fred is ready to serve his country yet again as Missouri’s representative for CD-02. I urge everyone to vet him and give him your support.
