Writer: ‘God save the republic from dangerous men’ such as Hawley

Letters+to+the+editor

To the editor:

The Senate should kick Josh Hawley out because of his disgraceful conduct on Jan. 6 when he raised his fist in encouragement towards the insurrectionists that stormed the Capitol.

His actions embarrass the state of Missouri and make the rest of the nation question how we could have elected a man who puts his own ambition to be president over the preservation of our democracy.

He appeals to the worst angels of our nature: He encourages discord based on the lie that the election was rigged. He knows this is a lie, but seeks to fire up the right-wing extremists to satisfy his electoral ambitions.

God save the republic from such dangerous men.
