The planned Meramec River Bridge replacement.

The Missouri Department of Transportation is alerting drivers to another upcoming lane shift at the Interstate 44 and Interstate 270 interchange as part of the ongoing new Meramec River bridge construction.

Crews will be shifting traffic on westbound I-44 starting about 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 9. This will mean single lane closures on southbound Interstate 270 and westbound I-44, starting about 7 p.m.  This shift will open up the ramp from westbound I-44 and northbound I-270 to get to the Soccer Park exit in Fenton.  The traffic shift should be complete by 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Once the shift is done, crews will close the short ramp lane on southbound I-270 which exits to westbound I-44 to place the concrete for the remainder of the ramp.

Until that work is complete, drivers heading west will not have their own exit lane, but will share the exit lane immediately to the left with drivers heading eastbound.

The latest shift will restore access to the Soccer Park exit, which hasn’t been open since a previous traffic shift in the area. That first shift was delayed several times due to weather but finally happened Feb. 23.
