Friday, Feb. 22

  • SSM Health St. Clare Auxiliary is hosting an evening of mouse races at Andre’s Banquet Center West, 211 S. Old Highway 141 in Fenton. Doors open at 6 p.m., buffet begins at 6:30 and the mouse races begin at 7. Cost is $30 per ticket or $275 for a table of 10, max. Cost includes mouse races, raffles, silent auction, balloon pull, mouse roulette, dinner buffet and an open bar. The event will support the addition of a 3DMammography unit at St. Clare Hospital. Saturday, Feb. 23

  • The Crestwood Animal Shelter, 9225 Whitecliff Park Lane, 63126, will host National Adoption Weekend from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The shelter will be open to the public so stop by and meet their shelter guests waiting for their love match. Speak with volunteers and consider helping the community by sharing your time and love to prepare our shelter guests for their forever families.
  • Cheryl Jost will have a book signing event at the Barnes & Noble in Fenton, 712 Gravios Road, 63026 for hew new book “The Silent Syndrome”, about living with Turner Syndrome. The book signing will begin at noon. Books are available for purchase online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble’s website, and will be available for purchase at the store.

Guest speaker will be Richard von Glahn from Missouri Jobs with Justice, speaking on ways to protect Clean Missouri and a possible ballot initiative to expand Medicaid in Missouri.   • Provident Counseling Services will be teaching a class on suicide awareness and intervention at Faith Lutheran Church, 6101 Telegraph Road, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The class will begin as a large group, followed by breakouts for youth and adults.
