The St. Louis County Planning Commission will conduct public hearings next week on three projects in South County.

The commission will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, April 17, in the County Council Chambers at the county government building, 41 S. Central Ave., in Clayton.

The first proposal is a request for a conditional use permit in an R-2 residential district from Ameren Missouri to construct a telecommunications tower at 5423 Telegraph Road, just south of Yaeger Road. The proposal is in the Mehlville School District and 6th County Council District of Councilman Ernie Trakas.

The second public hearing, in the 5th County Council District of Councilwoman Lisa Clancy and Affton School District, is a request from Azra Selimovic for amended C-8 commercial zoning to operate a tattoo parlor in the existing shopping center at the intersection of Heege and Mackenzie roads. The storefront that Azra is seeking to operate out of —  8005 Mackenzie Road — is being offered for lease by the Gundaker Commercial Group and is the former location of the A-1 Antenna TV Service Co.

According to the lease listing, the space is 1,320 square feet and is being offered for lease at an annual rate of $14 per square foot.

The last request up for public hearing Monday is a request from Katon Investment Co. for a conditional use permit in the C-2 commercial district to operate a seasonal snow cone stand on .7 acres at 5653 Telegraph Road, just south of Gebhardt Drive. The request is in the Mehlville School District and 6th County Council District. According to a preliminary site plan, the snow cone stand would be called Ice House.
