With up to 9 inches of snow expected to fall Monday afternoon through evening in South County and St. Louis, Schnucks announced it will be closing its stores early Monday night for the sake of its employees and customers.

All Schnucks stores in the following areas will close at 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15:

  • St. Louis metropolitan area

  • Columbia/Jefferson City, Missouri

  • Cape Girardeau, Missouri

  • Carbondale, Illinois

  • Centralia, Illinois

  • Evansville, Indiana

Affected stores will reopen Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 6 a.m. or their normal time, whichever is later.

“We urge everyone to use extreme caution when traveling in this inclement weather,” Schnucks said in its announcement.

The National Weather Service of St. Louis said that widespread snow continues to cause hazardous road conditions and low wind chills across eastern Missouri and southwest Illinois Monday.
