Reader receives space for his thoughts on ‘low-ball opinions’ of others

Letter to the Editor

To the editor:
I find it sad that a Crestwood resident would be offended by other Crestwood residents being given space to express their opinions in one of our local newspapers.
I am presuming that he has neglected reading the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. We are fortunate to be able to make that expression in the Call.
In his Jan. 11 letter to the editor, Joe Mattus felt free to offer his opinion of the “low-ball opinions” that disagreed with his personal opinion, yet he was given space to express himself in print.
Good writing is not measured by the size of the format in which it is printed. It is not limited by writing about local issues versus national issues. We are all citizens and as such, free to disagree.
