Donald and Ruth Proehl celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary June 18.
A reception will be held July 27 at Genesis Banquet Center, 2651 Telegraph Road. 
Donald and the former Ruth Schaefer were married by Rev. Schmelze June 18, 1949, at St. Stephen Protomartyr Catholic Church in St. Louis. They have four children: Donald of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania; Cindy of St. Louis; Richard of Eureka; and Barbara Leonard of Hillsboro, plus eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
