Despite the rainy weather, community members planted trees and shrubs along the creek at Crestwood Park, located off Meadowfern Drive, on May 3.
The event – attended by dozens of community members, including Crestwood Mayor Scott Shipley – was part of Operation Wild Lands and the Missouri Department of Conservation’s Back to Nature STL grant, in partnership with Open Space STL and the City of Crestwood Beautification Committee. All plants were donated by Forest ReLeaf of Missouri through their Project CommuniTree program.
The planting was originally scheduled for April 19, but was moved due to inclement weather.
