Chase looks to add ATMs in South County; zoning hearing tonight

Three freestanding Chase bank ATMs could be built in St. Louis County if the bank gets zoning approval after a public hearing tonight.

Residents can attend a videoconferenced public hearing on the ATMs held by the St. Louis County Planning Commission at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10. The hearing will not be archived to view later.  The St. Louis County Government Center is currently mostly closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On behalf of Chase, Eduardo Reyes is requesting conditional-use permits or CUPs for a series of freestanding ATMs in unincorporated areas of the county, including Oakville, Affton and Spanish Lake.

The bank, which does not have a large brick-and-mortar presence in St. Louis County, wants to add an ATM at 4238 Telegraph Road in Oakville, the plaza that includes Andre’s and Dairy Queen.

In Affton, the bank wants an ATM at 9998 Gravois Road, the southeast quadrant of Gravois Road and Tesson Ferry Road, at the 0.56-acre current site of a Verizon Wireless store. The ATM would be placed directly next to Tesson Ferry Road and would still allow the cell-phone store to operate, according to a site plan filed with the county.

In Spanish Lake, Chase wants to build an ATM at 1589 Sierra Vista Plaza, at the southeast quadrant of Bellefontaine Road and Larimore Parkway Drive.

There is currently only one Chase ATM in South County, according to the Chase website, at Southpoint shopping plaza. The closest Chase ATMs otherwise are in Kirkwood and Brentwood.
