The St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and Accident Reconstruction is currently investigating a fatal accident that resulted in the death of 10-year-old Charles Bunnel on April 19.
At approximately 10:25 p.m. on April 19, officers from the Affton Southwest Precinct responded to a call that a pedestrian had been struck near the intersection of Gravois Road and Cinnabar Drive. Upon arrival, officers found Bunnel lying in the eastbound lanes of Gravois Road, suffering from critical injuries. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.
According to the St. Louis County Police Department, investigations indicate that Bunnel ran out into the roadway, where he was struck by a pick-up truck. The driver of the vehicle called 911 and has been cooperating with the investigation.
