To the editor:
I would like to respond to Mr. Brian Volansky’s letter, April 24, 2025, who took exception to “ICE arrests of VISA holders, and American citizens.”
He categorized these individuals as “being deprived of due process, disconnected from everyone, and held for an indeterminate amount of time.” I didn’t hear Mr. Volansky come to the aid of the J6 (January 6) prisoners who were jailed in horrible conditions for several years without due process. The J6 prisoners were not “collateral” damage, but were political prisoners for which the ruling party wanted to make an example of “Go against us, and we will bankrupt you, and imprison you.”
Currently, we have millions of unvetted, unvaccinated illegal aliens from countries that want to do harm to America. These individuals were encouraged to violate our borders for the sole purpose of a “democrat voting block.”
ICE officials need to deport visa overstays of which the number appears to be 40% (i.e. Colorado fire-bomb suspect had overstayed a tourist visa). Illegals are a National Security problem. They are a drain on our culture and economy. Look what has happened to Europe.
Consider this, a few years ago, when the Crestwood Mall was being “rededicated;” one suggestion was to incorporate apartments and a single housing development. The Lindbergh School District argued against the housing proposal because they said that it would put a strain on school enrollment capacity. Really? I guess illegal residents don’t fit that narrative.
