To the editor:

I met a very special young lady who resides in our community. I am proud to introduce Julie Sikorak! 

After proudly serving as a U.S. Marine from May 2013 to 2017, her journey took her from Texas to Utah and beyond, eventually leading her to Missouri in August 2023 for dog training school. It was there that she dove deep into obedience, behavior, bite work and scent detection.

With all that incredible knowledge, she decided to become a bomb detection dog handler and launched her very own dog business! She and her amazing canine partner have been busy with building searches, concerts and even keeping events like Battlehawks and Blues games safe. She is very passionate about her work.

She mentioned she would not have reached her achievements without the expertise of Brian Dowdy, a master dog trainer from Metro K9 Academy. She is very amazing and has helped me so much with Malarkey. Congratulations, Julie, on your many accomplishments and thank you for your service.
