Two unnamed juvenile males, ages 16 and 17, were taken into custody in St. Charles County on July 28 in relation to the July 25 homicide of Daniel Douglas near the South County Center.
Both juveniles are currently being held at the St. Charles County Family Court on charges of second-degree murder and armed criminal action. Charges are merely an accusation. The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
Per a police report, St. Louis County police officers from the South County Precinct responded to a call for service for a shooting in the 2200 block of Union Road at approximately 7 p.m. on July 25. Once at the scene, officers located Douglas, who was suffering from life-threatening gunshot injuries. Douglas, 19, was transported to an area hospital for treatment, but he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
