Friday, Feb. 3

• There will be a holy hour for priestly and religious vocations from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Monastery of St. Clare, 200 Marycrest Drive. It is located off the 6000 block of Telegraph Road and south of the Bethesda nursing facility. The entrance is next to the Goddard Daycare Center.

• SAJE Senior Ministry is hosting chair yoga at 10:30 a.m. at Concord Trinity United Methodist Church, 5275 S. Lindbergh Blvd. Admission is $3 and SilverSneakers is accepted.

• SAJE Senior Ministry is hosting ZumbaGold at 11:30 a.m. at Concord Trinity United Methodist Church, 5275 S. Lindbergh Blvd. Admission is $3.

• Experience a magic show about the African-American scientist and inventor, George Washington Carver, at the Meramec Valley Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 1051 San Simeon Way. In celebration of Black History Month; presented by Tommy Terrific. Open to all ages.

Saturday, Feb. 4

• The Affton Community Center, 9801 Mackenzie Road, is hosting open pickleball from 11 – 1 p.m. and 1:15 to 3:15 p.m. Admission is $2 per person or free for Renew Active and SilverSneakers members. Reservations start Monday at 8 a.m. by calling 314-615-8822.

• Discover how the library runs behind the scenes while completing activities to earn a “Mini Master of Library Science” certificate at the Weber Road Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 4444 Weber Road, at 2 p.m. A “Take Your Child to the Library Day” program. For ages 3 and older.

• Enjoy a story about jazz music and listen to some jazz in celebration of Black History Month at the Meramec Valley Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 1051 San Simeon Way, at 10 a.m. For ages 7 to 11. Registration required at slcl.org/events.

• The St. Lucas United Church of Christ, 11735 Denny Road, is hosting a community meal from 4 – 5:30 p.m. Food is free and carry-outs are available.

Monday, Feb. 6

• Find out how roller coasters work and loop tracks for some speedy marble fun at the Weber Road Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 4444 Weber Road, at 6:30 p.m. For ages 8 to 12. Registration required at slcl.org/events.

• Listen and explore poems by Black poets at the Grant’s View Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 9700 Musick Road, at 7 p.m. For adults and teens. Registration required at slcl.org/events.

• Help create felt monsters to donate to children in need at the Cliff Cave Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 5430 Telgraph Road, at 2 p.m.. All felt monsters will be donated to St. Louis Children’s Hospital. For adults. Registration required at slcl.org/events.

Tuesday, Feb. 7

• The Mehlville Lions Club will meet at  6 to 7 p.m. at Cafe Telegraph, 2650 Telegraph Road.

• GriefShare meets at 6:30 p.m. at Lutheran Church of Webster Gardens, 8749 Watson Road.

Thursday, Feb. 9

• SAJE Senior Ministry is hosting a “lunch and learn” program at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Holy Spirit Church, 3980 S. Lindbergh Blvd. Bring an example of how you relax and unwind for an informal show and share. There will also be the opportunity to learn basic Origami. Lunch will be served at noon. $5.

• Join a park ranger for the Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site to learn about Father Dickson, a historically Black cemetery in Crestwood, at 2 p.m. at the Oak Bend Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 842 S. Holmes Ave. The cemetery is where more than 6,000 people are buried, including Civil War veterans, civil rights leaders and educators. In celebration of Black History Month. For adults.

• Learn about the life and art of Alma Woodsey Thomas and then paint your own canvas in the style of her painting at the Cliff Cave Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 5430 Telegraph Road, at 5:30 p.m.
