A sign officially designating part of Gravois Road in front of the Affton Southwest Precinct ‘Officer Blake Snyder Highway’ was unveiled last weekend, more than two years after Snyder was killed on duty in Green Park. Snyder’s widow, Elizabeth; son Malachi, now 4; and parents attended the unveiling, pictured to the left.

Snyder’s family members, police colleagues, friends and others pose with the new road sign.

‘Not only will (Malachi) get to drive down the street one day and see this, but other little boys will get to grow up and do the same thing,’ Elizabeth Snyder said. ‘And every time they see that sign they’ll think honor, sacrifice, caring, loving — everything that every law enforcement officer embodies. I’m very grateful that our family is being honored this way.’
