On Aug. 7, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has issued charges on 18-year-old Jadin Smith for second-degree murder, armed criminal action and attempted robbery in the November homicide of Logan Snyder, 16. Smith is being held on a $1 million, cash-only, no 10% bond.
Charges are merely an accusation. Smith is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
On Nov. 14, 2024, an investigation was launched following the report of a body near the 700 block of Horn Avenue. The investigation revealed that Smith and his co-defendant, Martin Tullis III, traveled together to meet the victim, Snyder. When the three met, Snyder was pushed to the ground and shot by Tullis and Smith.
Police say Tullis and Smith then went through Snyder’s pockets, removed some of his personal property and left the scene. Snyder succumbed to his injuries in an alley near the intersection of Regina Avenue and Horn Avenue.
Smith’s co-defendant, Tullis, was charged in June with first-degree murder, armed criminal action and attempted robbery. Both defendants were 17 at the time of the homicide, and they were taken into custody on Nov. 21.
The St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons detectives are handling this investigation. For more information, see previous reporting from The Call.
