A private Christian school in Arnold that serves South County students is looking to expand the grades it serves by opening a new high school in fall 2020.

Victory Christian Academy, 1930 Meyer Drury Drive, Suite B, in Arnold, is searching for a location for the new high school and plans to offer ninth-grade curriculum courses starting fall 2020. The idea was previously exploratory but after receiving positive feedback during an informational meeting in October, the board for the school voted to pursue offering high-school courses and moved on to the development phase, administrator Dave Fox said.

Victory Christian Academy was founded as Victory Christian School in St. Louis city in 1975.

It started out serving younger grades before building up to a high school that was eventually shuttered in the 1990s.

The school has since moved to a couple different locations before opening its doors in Arnold in the 2017-2018 school year.

It was located on West Ripa Avenue in Lemay from 2010 to 2017.

The school currently serves grades kindergarten through eighth grade and has an enrollment of roughly 80 children.

While it remains to be seen if the high school will eventually be its own building, the school is planning to first start with offering ninth-grade curriculum courses at its current location before integrating additional grades on a yearly basis.

“In lower South County and upper Jefferson County there are really limited choices for a Christian high school, so this alone created a lot of good, positive buzz,” said Fox. For more information, visit www.vcacad-emy.org.
