The Mehlville School District recently crowned champions in 12 different weight classes at the annual middle school wrestling tournament.
Bernard Middle School students earned the most medals, capturing seven first-place finishes, five-second place finishes and four third-place finishes for a total of 16.
Next in the medal standings was Buerkle Middle School with 15, with pupils earning two first-place finishes, five second-place finishes and eight third-place finishes.
Oakville Middle School claimed four medals, picking up two first-place finishes and two second-place finishes.
Washington Middle School earned one first-place medal.
Individual first place winners were:
75-85 pounds — Zak McManemin, sixth grade, Bernard Middle.
85-95 pounds — Jimmy Brockman, seventh grade, Washington Middle.
93-99 pounds — Kris Rogers, seventh grade, Oakville Middle.
100-107 pounds — Austin Bennet, sixth grade, Bernard Middle.
110-115 pounds — Caleb Gianino, seventh grade, Bernard Middle.
118-122 pounds — Dennis Baynes, seventh grade, Bernard Middle.
125-129 pounds — Brandon Brown, seventh grade, Bernard Middle.
132-134 pounds — Aaron Jeffers, eighth grade, Bernard Middle.
136-145 pounds — James Lupo, seventh grade, Bernard Middle.
145-165 pounds — Ben Smith, seventh grade, Buerkle Middle.
171-179 pounds — Tony D’Angelo, eighth grade, Oakville Middle.
190-224 pounds — Logan Schoen, seventh grade, Buerkle Middle.
